Registration for Newcomer Students

In line with current Canadian public health consensus, all travelers to Canada from outside the country will be provided direction regarding self-monitoring for symptoms for 14 days and directed to stay home and call 811 should symptoms develop.

Those countries or regions are those at a Level 2 or 3 risk level, as assessed by the Government of Canada. As of March 6, 2020, the following countries or region are included:

China              South Korea          Japan                      Singapore

Italy                Iran                         Hong Kong

 

Currently the only exception to this is travelers from Iran and the Chinese province of Hubei, who are asked to self-isolate for 14 days regardless of symptoms.

 

All registration appointments for the International Welcome Centre (IWC)   must be made via phone 856-2216 or email iwcmoncton@nbed.nb.ca      Please do not drop in to make an appointment.

Who should make an appointment to register at the International Welcome Centre?
  • ​Kindergarten to Grade 12 students born in Canada who DO NOT speak English as their home language.
  • Kindergarten to Grade 12 students born outside Canada, regardless of language spoken at home.
