Last year was a huge success and we are very thankful to all the donors and those who attended. All proceeds from this evening go to support the 60th Anniversary Bessborough Reconnect Technology & 21st Century Learning Upgrade Project. To date, we have built a Makerspace with a 3D printer, acquired hands on learning kits to support STEM education, initiated a 1 iPad Classroom Teacher Professional Learning Program, purchased musical instruments for our music program, equipment to do green screen video creation, and mobile tech tubs to increase the functionality and mobility of our existing iPads.  We want to give our students and teachers the best equipment and learning opportunities possible and the community support from events like Bessborough Reconnects make it possible.

We are also looking for businesses or individuals who may be interested in donating goods or services that we can use as part of our Bessborough Reconnect Gala, Dinner, Dance and Auction. All donations will be recognized with a letter of in kind donation for goods or services, and all financial donations of $20 or more are eligible for a tax receipt. If you are interested in donating please contact me at 856-3564, nicholas.mattatall@nbed.nb.ca, Kevin Williams at kevin.williams@nbed.nb.ca, or you can leave a message with Donna Lewis at Bessborough School 856-3404.  No donation is too big or small as it all helps to enrich the learning and experiences of our kids. Donors will also be recognized with a placard on the Reconnects Donor board in our Main Lobby.

If you prefer to make an individual or corporate financial contribution, options are available on the School Cash Online System to commit to the $60 x 60 Club, a group of donors who commit to donating a minimum of $60 by November 8th, 2019, our school's 60 anniversary, or we also have other donor recognition programs which are outlined below. Financial donations can also be made in person by stopping by the school office. Imagine League Update:  The Imagine League will resume on Monday, February 6th and be held in the Art room every Monday in February from 1:45-2:45 for K-2 participants and from 2:45-3:45 for Grade 3-8

On Monday, January 30th, Bessborough Leadership students prepared a meal at the Ronald McDonald House located in the Moncton Hospital. Students volunteer with the Home for Dinner program, which allows families to stay close to their loved ones while they are receiving treatment at the hospital.

On Tuesday, January 31st, students in grades 3-8 took part in a Right to Play assembly. Students learned that Right to Play helps one million children recognize their potential and realize their dreams through the power of play. Right to Play programs focus on measurably impacting the three most critical areas of child development: the quality of their education, their ability to stay healthy and their potential to help build peaceful communities.

With their most recent popcorn proceeds, Bessborough Leadership students purchased $300 worth of school supplies for students living in Cuba. Supplies will be delivered in late February by two Leadership students who will be visiting the country for a baseball tournament.

On Tuesday, February 7th, middle school students will be participating in a WE Give Where We Live assembly offered through WE. WE is a one of the largest not-for-profit organizations in the world, and it was founded by Canadian brothers Marc and Craig Kielburger. Students who Live WE at School are stepping up and making a difference in their neighborhood and world at large. Bessborough students believe that no matter your age or location, we can all make a positive impact – whether that’s volunteering, fundraising or raising awareness around causes that matter. After the assembly, 25 Leadership students in grades 7 and 8 will be participating in a Leadership workshop.
