Friday, March 17th, Leadership students will be selling popcorn and students
are invited to wear green. All proceeds raised from popcorn sales will go to
support a family in need in our district.
At Bessborough School, we are encouraging students to
Spring into Action and make healthy activity and eating choices as we get
closer and closer to spring. To do so,
we are launching a contest in partnership with Chartwells to give six prizes of
fresh fruit trays, yogurt parfaits, veggie trays, fruit kabobs and other
healthy snacks for classes. Winning
students will receive a prize for their homeroom to treat their classmates to a
healthy recess snack.
To enter, students need to write a letter addressed to
Mr. Mattatall and Mr. Williams outlining what their personal, or family plan is to get
active and eat healthier. This can
include choosing more fruits and vegetables, reducing their consumption of
sugary drinks/snacks, plans for physical activity, trying new foods, or any
other great ideas you may have to live a healthier and more active lifestyle as
an individual or family.
For younger students, you may choose to write the letter
with a parent if you want.
Letters are due by March 31st and letters can be given to
homeroom teachers, or dropped off at the office.
We look forward to reading all of the submissions and
learning more about your ideas to Spring Into Action and make our school
community healthier and more active.
