Bessborough Bengal News!

Bessborough School raised $576.75 for the Terry Fox Foundation. Students and staff participated in the annual Terry Fox walk on Friday, September 29th. Students exceeded their goal of raising $500 and were thrilled to see Mr. Williams participate in the walk wearing a squid hat.

Bessborough Leadership students are collecting small items that will be distributed in El Salvador during a staff member's upcoming missionary trip. Toothbrushes, small toys, games, school supplies and flip flops can be dropped off at the school.

This week was Mental Health Awareness Week at Bessborough School. Our Guidance Counselor, Miss Durelle, started "Mindful Moments" with small groups of students on Mondays and Wednesdays. In her sessions she works on Mindfulness and Relaxation with the students. As well, Miss Durelle is assisting teachers to include Restorative Practices within their classrooms. As part of this, teachers are being equiped with Restorative Dialogue which is a process that seeks to discover the root cause of challenging behavior, determine impact, repair harm, and ultimatley restore damaged relationships.
