The grade two class of Mrs. Steeves is feeding composting worms their left over lunches and snacks to create compost. They are also working on the compost outside in a raised bed. The goal is to have lots of compost ready for the community garden in the spring.
The grade five class of Mme Robichaud decided to call Harvest House and ask what kinds of donations that they were in need of. They found out that people do not often think to donate socks. We tend to wear our socks until they are full of holes. The class then decided to declare October "Socktober". They made posters and collected socks every Friday from the classes. After counting up all the donations they had 733 pairs of socks to donate to harvest house. What a great way to give back to the community.
The students of Lou MacNarin School each colored a poppy to fill the letters of the word THANKS so that we can display our thanks to those who served and continue to serve our country.
