On November 21st Caledonia Regional High School Grade 12 Liam Gunton will speak at the Cybersecurity Conference "BSides" in Fredericton. His presentation titled "My P.L.A.C.E. - Personalized Learning and Cybersecurity Education" will speak about his involvement in a virtual co-op with Bulletproof Solutions, captaining the school's Cyber Titan Team, preparing for the CISSP standards exam and seeking immediate employment in the cybersecurity industry after graduation in June. Mr. Kelly is a Global Minecraft Mentor working with the Seattle team. He wants all parents to know that on November 18th Minecraft is live-streaming a massive global event called "Minecon Earth" which is guaranteed to please Minecraft fans of all ages. Costume contests, big announcements and a sense of global community are just a few reasons to gather together as Minecraft Fans and watch! Efforts are being made to bring Minecraft Education Edition to all students at Caledonia Regional as the classroom benefits of this flexible game are heralded worldwide. 

 

On November 29th Microsoft's VP of Windows and Device Group Terry Myerson will Skype live with Game Development, Minecraft Education and Mixed Reality students at Caledonia Regional. CRHS has one of the county's only Microsoft HoloLens devices in K-12 education thanks to Brilliant Labs and students also have been creating Windows games for years using Unity3D software. Microsoft's "Skype-a-thon" runs November 28th to 29th this year! Mr. Kelly is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert and students are benefiting daily and directly from this distinction.
