QES supports Friends of the Moncton Hospital

The ROCKSTARs is Queen Elizabeth School’s leadership group made up of fourteen Grade 8 students.  As a group, our purpose is to promote Queen E’s values which are respect, ownership, communication and kindness, while helping out in various ways both in our school community and Moncton community.  We are very grateful to the Moncton community who contribute to our school on a regular basis and we wanted to pay it forward.

This is our third year supporting the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Radiothon and this year was even more successful than last!  Many people within our school community have directly benefited from services from the Moncton Hospital, so we are proud to raise money for such a worthy cause.

In order to raise the funds, The ROCKSTARs hosted 5 theme days for our students over the past week.

These theme days included; pajama day, hoodie & Superhero day, twin day, jersey/uniform day/blue and white spirit day, and crazy hair and hat day.  Crazy hair/hat day was the most popular event although participation in all theme days was super and exceeded our expectations!

The ROCKSTARs also hosted a popcorn sale to raise funds for the cause.

The staff at our school also participated by donating their casual Friday funds from the month of January to the cause.

Because of our supportive school community we are very pleased, to present a cheque in the amount of $1000 to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital!
