AHM Voicemail for Friday October 20th
Many thanks to the families and friends who have supported our two most recent Home and School fundraisers:  St. Louis Bar and Grill Night and the Read-a-Thon.  The winners from the Read-a-Thon will be announced at our monthly assembly next week and the totals from the St. Louis fundraiser will be available soon.  At this point the Read-a-Thon raised a little over $3 000 in profit.  This has earned the students an extra recess and Jello Fight for the top earning class.

Art Club for Grade 5 students will resume this Thursday October 26th after school until 3:45 pm.

We are noticing a large increase in the amount of garbage that is on our playground.  Please remind your children to pick up after themselves even on the weekends and after school hours.

Chartwells, our cafeteria service provider, is looking to hire a supervisor and a helper.  For more information please contact Gerene at 856-3377.

The final total isn’t in yet but we have raised over $350 to help schools reopen in Puerto Rico.  This just proves that small change can make a big difference.

AHM Voicemail for Thursday October 5th
Dear Parents/Guardians,
On Thursday, September 14th, 2017, the Arnold H. McLeod Home and School Executive committee discovered that our bank account had been compromised.  Cheques had been forged, and a substantial amount of money had been found to have gone missing from our Home and School account over the course of June, July, and August.  Unfortunately, this has prevented us from being able to purchase much needed school equipment.
The RCMP has been notified and are currently investigating.  The AHM Home and School Executive Committee is working closely with the RCMP to identify the culprit/culprits involved.  At this time, members of the AHM Home and School Executive Committee are unable to answer questions regarding the ongoing investigation as it could compromise the investigation.  Updates will be given when we are permitted to provide them.  We appreciate your patience in this most unfortunate matter.  We also greatly appreciate your continued support of the Arnold H. McLeod Home and School association.

Sincerely,

Trina Bland (President) Susie MacDow (Co-President)

Jennifer Leger (Vice-President)               Lynn Adams (Secretary)

Laura England (Treasurer)

We announced last week that our building would be gaining two additional portables for the next school year.  In order to make this possible, removal of some current equipment and construction needs to begin tomorrow.  For that reason, the playground will be off limits tomorrow and on the weekend.  All students will need to enter the school in the morning via the front doors, it will be an indoor recess day for all, and all students will be dismissed via the front doors of the building for Friday only.  We would also ask that as parents you refrain from loitering in the area after dismissal and after school hours so that the construction crews can perform their job as safely and as quickly as possible.  As we move forward with the construction we may need to make other adjustments as there are needed.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please note that there will be no option of placing cafeteria orders online after Friday June 9th.  The cafeteria will remain open until Friday June 16th.  Please note that the main meal may be altered on some days pending what is available in the pantry.
