AHM Voicemail for Thursday October 5th
Dear Parents/Guardians,
On Thursday, September 14th, 2017, the Arnold H. McLeod Home and School Executive committee discovered that our bank account had been compromised.  Cheques had been forged, and a substantial amount of money had been found to have gone missing from our Home and School account over the course of June, July, and August.  Unfortunately, this has prevented us from being able to purchase much needed school equipment.
The RCMP has been notified and are currently investigating.  The AHM Home and School Executive Committee is working closely with the RCMP to identify the culprit/culprits involved.  At this time, members of the AHM Home and School Executive Committee are unable to answer questions regarding the ongoing investigation as it could compromise the investigation.  Updates will be given when we are permitted to provide them.  We appreciate your patience in this most unfortunate matter.  We also greatly appreciate your continued support of the Arnold H. McLeod Home and School association.

Sincerely,

Trina Bland (President) Susie MacDow (Co-President)

AHM Voicemail for Thursday June 1st
We announced last week that our building would be gaining two additional portables for the next school year.  In order to make this possible, removal of some current equipment and construction needs to begin tomorrow.  For that reason, the playground will be off limits tomorrow and on the weekend.  All students will need to enter the school in the morning via the front doors, it will be an indoor recess day for all, and all students will be dismissed via the front doors of the building for Friday only.  We would also ask that as parents you refrain from loitering in the area after dismissal and after school hours so that the construction crews can perform their job as safely and as quickly as possible.  As we move forward with the construction we may need to make other adjustments as there are needed.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please note that there will be no option of placing cafeteria orders online after Friday June 9th.  The cafeteria will remain open until Friday June 16th.  Please note that the main meal may be altered on some days pending what is available in the pantry.

Alternate conveyance forms were sent home this month with those students who had requests this year to be dropped off by their bus at a location other than their home address.  These forms are for the 2017-2018 school year.  If you would like to arrange your child’s bussing needs for next year and you have not received a form please contact the school.  Should you decide to wait until the fall, the form could take 2-3 weeks to be processed during which time you would be responsible for the transportation of your child.

The Home and School Committee has been busy planning our annual Family Fun Day which will be held on June 9th from 4-7pm. One of the big fundraisers that evening is our silent auction and we are calling out to our school families this year to help. If you own your own business and would like to offer a product or service for our silent auction please contact Trina Bland at 961-2598 via call or text - no item is too small. If you are interested in volunteering for an hour that evening please contact Trina.

Anglophone East is currently accepting resumes for casual bus drivers.  The position is responsible for the safe transport of students to and from schools and activities. To apply, go to the Anglophone East website and click on “Employment Opportunities”.

Grade 5 students and parents are invited to a Scavenger Hunt at Lewisville Middle School on Tuesday May 30th from 6:00 – 7:00 pm.  Although they have not yet dropped off an official invitation, please mark this date in your calendar.

AHM Voicemail for Friday May 3rd
Tomorrow night is the night for our 7th annual Night of the Arts!  Please remember that the doors open at 6:00 pm.  There will be concession stands and an Art sale.  Please note that during the performances the sales will shut down.  You are more than welcome to stay in the hallways but please be mindful of the performances that will be occurring in the gym. Your child has a slip in their agenda that lists their artwork.  You may find it helpful to bring that along with you tomorrow night.  The night promises to be a very special one!  We hope to see you there.

Please note that there will be no school on Friday May 5th.
