Lockdown Procedure Practice Thursday at 11am
Good Evening Parents,

This email is to notify you that we will be practicing our Lockdown procedures on Thursday, September 28th at approximately 11am following our Terry Fox Walk.  While we hope we never need to use our Lockdown procedure, we want to insure that all of our staff and students are aware of the procedures and expectations in the event that a Lockdown is necessary.  To review our procedures and provide us with feedback for improvement, we have invited Officer Garault from Codiac RCMP to be present during the Lockdown Drill.  This week, teachers will review procedures and expectations with students leading up to the drill on Thursday.  We understand that many students bring a variety of life experiences to school with them and may react differently to a drill of this nature.  Our school guidance counselor, Ms. Durelle will be available to support any students following the drill and we also request that before Thursday you discuss this drill with your child, emphasizing that we practice Lockdown drills like fire drills so that we are prepared.  For your reference, we also want you to be aware that during the Lockdown drill, no one is able to enter or leave the school, and phones will not be answered for the duration of the drill.  If your child needs to leave school for an appointment between 11am and 11:30am on Thursday, we ask that you please make arrangements for them to leave the school by 10:45am.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school at 856-3404.
