Talk Mail - Frday, June 8th, 2018

Friday, June 8th, 2018

On the graduation program we are proud to list scholarships and bursaries that our students receive. Any graduating student who has received a scholarship or bursary, including entrance scholarships, and would like to have them recognized on the graduation program needs to submit documentation of the scholarship to Mr. Harris in guidance by June 15.

This is a message for all parents of grade 11 students.  The school year is coming to a close and with it comes preparation for many end of year events, including graduation.  Each year, the graduation ceremony is always followed by a reception for the graduates and their families, and it is traditionally organized by the grade 11 class.  In order to provide refreshments and food for this reception, the parents of grade 11 students are kindly asked to make a monetary donation to help cover expenses.  It is completely voluntary, with a suggested amount of $20, though any donation would be greatly appreciated.  The donation can be paid online through school cash, or brought to the school office. Thank you.

Report cards will be given out on Friday, June 22nd from 9-11am from the homeroom teacher.  If you are not able to make this time, please provide your homeroom teacher with a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Atlantic Education International brings students aged11-18 to NB from countries around the world (Brazil, Colombia, Chile, China, Germany, Mexico, Spain, Turkey, Vietnam). Students study for varying lengths of time: 12 weeks, a semester, 10 months. During their stay they live with families, who are asked to provide a separate bedroom, three nutritious meals a day, reasonable transportation to and from activities, access to the Internet, and the supervision appropriate for the age and needs of the student living in your home. In return, families are paid a stipend (tax free) of $ 700 a month - and an incredible opportunity to share our Canadian lifestyle and learn about a culture very different from our own. The relationship building lasts a lifetime!

BMHS My Device, My Learning Parent Survey

Dear BMHS Parents,
As some of you may have heard, many of our high schools across the province are preparing to offer wireless internet for students to use with personal devices. Our district has named this initiative “My Device, My Learning”. What this means is that students will be able to bring in personal digital devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops to school and can connect them to our wireless internet. This is an exciting learning and educational opportunity for our students and staff.
Please complete the following questions as we gather information to be used in our application process to grant student access to Wi-Fi.  Visit the school website  and look under news tab to complete the survey.
