March 20

Hello from Frank L. Bowser School,

Here are several important items happening around our wonderful school over the next little while.

There was information last week sent out regarding the possibility of welcoming a service animal to our school.  After consultation with the program organizer we have decided not to move forward with this at this time.  We will however keep communication open regarding the time frame of having this step take place at FLB.

Tomorrow is World Down Syndrome Day.  We are recognizing this day by asking students to wear crazy or interesting socks tomorrow.  More information about this day can be found at:

Please note there is NO SCHOOL for students this week on Thursday March 22.  Teachers will focus on Professional Development in the afternoon and planning for report cards in the morning.

We will be hosting a playground designer next Wednesday March 28th in our classrooms.  This is a big and exciting step for the playground initiative and its committee.  A representative from the chosen builder will be here speaking with students throughout the morning on Wednesday and spending the afternoon putting the suggestions and thoughts together in the form of a visual plan for our new playground.  At 6:30 Wednesday night we will hold an open community meeting here in our Gym where the designer will unveil a concept drawing and some information regarding the process of replacing our existing play structure keeping the same feel and esthetic of our current playground.  Please join us next Wednesday night at 6:30 for this exciting faze of the process.  More information will be sent out individually from the committee in the next couple of days.

Finally please see the information below from the Riverview High Drama Department:

Riverview High School’s drama department will be offering a movie night on Friday March 23rd! We will be premiering Star Wars Last Jedi. Star Wars: The Last Jedi builds upon Star Wars history for a more expansive, high-stakes adventure with plenty of fresh – and classic – elements..   Admission is 5$ minimum donation per person.  Bring the whole family for a great night of food and fun in the Riverview Arts Center Theater and help support our aspiring actors! Doors open at 6: 15 and the movie starts at 7:00. Limited seats available - first come first served.

Thanks everyone and have a fantastic rest of your week!
