Dear Parents/Guardians,
November is upon us with colder temperatures. Please be sure students come to school dressed for the weather. With the colder temperatures the potential for snow storms is just around the corner. Please see the school closure notice that is also being sent home today. Thank you.

This past few weeks we have had a few special events that I would like to note. First, the annual Harvest Lunch was enjoyed by all. This event was supported by Foods of the Fundy Valley as well as other community members.  It was great to see students involved in the preparation of this lunch. Thank you to all those who contributed to this event.  You also may have heard about a special guest who dropped by to perform and talk to our students. Last week we had a surprise visitor as part of the Sistema guest artist program.  Canadian violinist Adrian Anantawan, who was born without a right hand, talked and performed for the students and staff. He is a world renowned musician and he shared his story with the students, encouraging them to set goals and not to give up.

Our fall fundraiser is about to begin. With the help of our Home and School Association, we will be selling Apple Valley pies.  Students will be receiving all the needed information soon. We are looking forward to a successful fundraiser!

On Monday Nov. 7th at 11:30 we will have our Remembrance Day Ceremony. Parents and community are invited to attend. When the veterans finish at CRHS, they will join us at HES. We hope to begin by 11:30am.

Parent/teacher interviews will take place on Thursday evening (Nov 24th 6:00pm to 8:00pm) and Friday morning (Nov. 25th 9:00am to 11:00am). Contact the school beginning the week of Nov. 14th to schedule an interview time.  Schools are closed for students on Friday, Nov. 25th.

Allergy Alert – Please remember, HES is a nut free school as we have some students with severe allergies to nuts.  Thank you for helping ensure our students are safe by not sending food with nut products.
