Dear Parents/Guardians,

February marks the beginning of the second half of the school year!  Students continue to work hard at school to meet the academic expectations placed upon them. Your support in ensuring that homework is completed is important.  It may be a good time to re-establish homework routines like having a designated place to do homework, establishing a regular time for homework and removing distractions such as the television and social media during homework time.

This month the entire school has been invited to see a Theatre New Brunswick performance with Riverside Consolidated School.  Students will travel by bus on February 13th to the Riverside Recreation Centre where they will enjoy a performance titled The Damsel In Distress Who Saved Herself’ performed by TNB Young Company’s. Thank you to Riverside School!  Permission slips for traveling by bus will be sent home next week.

This month students and families are being challenged to eat a healthy snack each day starting next week.  This challenge is in preparation for March….which is Nutrition Month.  Students are encouraged to eat a healthy snack at morning recess (the school will also have some available).  There will be a follow up outing to celebrate this challenge. More information will be sent home later this month.

Allergy Alert – Please remember, HES is a nut free school as we have some students with severe allergies to nuts.  Thank you for helping ensure our students are safe by not sending food with nut products.
