Dear Parents/Guardians,

This is the final monthly newsletter for the 2016-2017 school year. Some special events have been planned for the students during the month of June (see dates and activities listed above). Other than these specifically planned activities, regular school routines continue during the month of June. Teaching and learning remain a focus.

Please remember that flip flops are not appropriate outdoor footwear at school, even during nice weather.  The play area is uneven in places and we often use the field for outdoor gym classes where shoes with support are needed. Thank you.

Some preparations have started for the next school year.  With this often comes questions about what classrooms students will be in next year.  We are unable to confirm the specific classrooms and teachers for students next year as changes continue to take place over the summer. Class lists with homeroom teachers will be posted on the first day of school.

A message from transportation concerning alternate conveyance requests for the 2017-2018 school year:

Parents/Guardians may request to have their child/children delivered to an alternative address. Students MAY  be permitted to travel to an alternative address subject to the following conditions:

• If the service requested occurs on a consistent basis (i.e. every day to same location)

• If the request can be accommodated on an existing route and stop

• If the bus can accommodate extra passengers.

Forms can be requested from the school office and should be returned by June 23rd . Forms received in the fall can take

up to two weeks to process. (Forms will also be available on the Anglophone East website in July and August.)

With summer just around the corner, we want to encourage students to keep up their literacy and numeracy skills. A good way to do this is to visit our local library.  There are activities planned for the month of June and throughout the summer.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all our families for their continued support and wish you a safe and enjoyable summer. We look forward to seeing our returning students in September and wish our grade 5 students a great new journey into middle school.
