Monday, Jan. 8th – Students return from Christmas holidays

Dear Parents/Guardians,

December is almost upon us along with plans for Christmas activities and events at Hillsborough Elementary School. First, let me say thank you for coming to Parent/Teacher interviews this past week.  Communicating about your child’s progress is an important part of supporting student learning.

The Home and School pie order has been placed. Thank you to all those who sold pies and to those who ordered pies.  The pies will be delivered on Friday, Dec. 8th. The truck will be at the school from 2pm-6pm. Please stop by to pick up your child’s pie order.  We will have copies of the orders there.  THANK YOU for all your support! Winners will be announced soon!  A few more notes from the Home and School Association:

  • Home and School information can be found on Facebook by searching for Hillsborough Home and School Association.

  • Tickets for front row seating at the Christmas Concert (and VIP parking) will be sold prior to the concert ($3 for one ticket). Tickets to be returned by Friday, Dec. 8th. This information was sent home with students.

  • H&S will be organizing the Shopping Party on Dec. 18th – Please send in gently used items before this date. Our students enjoy shopping for family and friends at this event! Each item will be 50 cents (Max number of items K-2 will be 6 and Gr 3-5 will be 6-8. This number could change depending on how many items come in.) If you can volunteer for this event, please contact the school at 734-3700 or Angela Barkhouse at abarkhouse@rogers.com

Again this year, Anglophone East will support local food banks with their “Fill the Bus” campaign.  Students are invited to bring non-perishable food items to contribute to this event.  The bus will arrive to pick up items on Dec. 19th.

As this will be the last newsletter before the Christmas holidays, the staff here at Hillsborough Elementary School want to wish you a safe and joyous Christmas holiday and we look forward to your return in January of 2018!
