No Parking Fire Lane on Douglas Street
Hello Parents, Guardians:
We are urged to communicate the importance of respecting the No Parking Fire Lane on Douglas Street, as indicated by signs and yellow paint. Picking up and dropping off students is convenient in this area but not allowed.   The Fire Dept. needs this area clear at all times to safely leave from and return to the Fire Station with fire fighting equipment.
This link provides further details, as provided recently by the Village and Volunteer Fire Department.

Host Families  and Support for Girls' Rugby
Here are two items that we hope you will find of interest:

This is a second notice about the information meeting this evening, Thursday May 25 at 6:30 pm in the JMA/SMS library. This is for any family who may be willing to host an international student,  Some discussion topics will be the programs for international students, countries and time frames, and reimbursement formulas. The success of our visiting student program is only possible when we have host families.  Please consider coming out to the school this evening to hear how this may work for you and your family, hosting a student next year.

Now for a Rugby fundraiser - On Monday, May 29th,  from 5pm until closing,  St Louis Bar-b-que on Mountain road has offered 20% of ALL their sales (eat in and take out) to our girls rugby team to help pay for their jerseys.
If you and your family or friends wish to come and grab a bite to eat on Monday evening we would certainly appreciate it. Please pass this info along to anyone who might be interested.
Thanks in advance to everyone who will join in this fundraiser on that evening.

Your help in supporting our school in both or either of these ways is appreciated!

April 27
No classes Friday and a Parent Event in May.
Hello Everyone,
There is no school for students tomorrow Friday, April 28th because of staff sessions.
Also, please reserve May 11 for a special "parents only" information evening here at the school.  This will have a single topic of Social Media and Other Realities as they are affecting our young people daily.  More details will come early next week on this event which will encourage parents from Grades Kindergarten to High school to attend. It will highlight what parents know already and much about what many do not know at all.

IPads in the Classroom
Hello Parents of our Middle School Students,
This message to you is about Ipads in our classrooms- the ones that are student owned and also the school-owned devices. As we plan to add more grades to our program we really do need to be able to count on a partnership with parents.  There's an attachment here that gives more detail and also a 4 question survey at this link

Your anonymous answers will give us a better idea of how we can continue to progress with this valuable program using Ipads in the classroom. The link is also in the attached document.

Thanks very much,

Mr. Robinson
