Happy
Saturday from Riverview East School!
We wanted to
extend a sincere thanks to the community for your patience and assistance with
our back to school transition. In order
to assist with a smoother transition and keeping student safety a top priority,
we are asking that parents and guardians take a minute to familiarize
themselves with our most recent Riverview East School Safety Operational
changes. (Effective Monday September 14th, 2020)
Kindergarten to Grade 2- Dismissal (1:25) Parent pick up.
Kindergarten parents will form a line in between
the two play structures, behind designated pylon marked Kindergarten.
Grade 1 parents will form a line along the interior
side of playground fence (parallel to Bus loop) behind designated pylon
marked Grade 1.
Grade 2 parents will form a line on the basketball
court, behind designated pylon marked Grade 2.
Grade 3 to Grade 8-Dismissal (2:30) Parent pick up.
Grade 3 and Grade 4 parents will form
two lines along the interior side of playground fence (parallel to bus loop)
behind designated pylons marked Grade 3 and Grade 4.
Grade 5 Parents and Grade 6 parents
will form two lines in between the two play structures, behind designated
pylons marked Grade 6 and Grade 7.
Grade 8 Parents will form a line along the
fence parallel to Chambers Street marked with designated pylon Grade
8.
****As student safety is of upmost importance, we want to alleviate
students having to walk through large groups of individuals who may or may not
be wearing masks during pick up time.
The sidewalks must be clear of parents 2m to allow walking students to
be dismissed safely. We are asking
walking students to leave their masks on until they are off school property and
away from people. They can take their
masks off when their parents feel it is safe.
Parking
We would
like to thank all of you who followed our parking guidelines and kept student
safety a priority. As you are aware,
vehicles are not permitted to beyond the clearly displayed no parking signs nor
are vehicles allowed to park on the opposite side of Chambers Street. The busses had a very difficult time leaving
the school property on Friday as sections of the road were blocked by illegal
parking. Mr. Dixon would like to advise
the community that on Monday September 14th, 2020, additional pylons
will be placed along Chambers Street to display the no parking areas.
The school
also received notification from Gunningsville Church that parents are not
permitted to park in their lot, as the Church offers after school daycare
services.
Transportation-Bussing
If you
require bussing services for your child, you must create an online account
through the Anglophone East School District website. You will notice the green tab, called School & Bus Locater. You will access the parent portal.

Please note
that transportation has advised that it will take up to 2 weeks to process the
request. It takes extra time to process
each request because each request must be manually recorded based on the
numbers of K-5 students on the bus in their seat, and number of older students
who sit two to a seat with masks based on the public health guidelines that
must be followed. We ask that you refrain
from calling the school as we are unable to assist with bussing changes,
bussing routes, bussing numbers, or bussing questions. Should you require any information regarding
bussing we ask that you contact district office at 1506 856-3222.
