REMINDER: The immunization clinic will be held at River Middle school this Wednesday, May 3rd   for the second dose of the vaccine against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) for girls in Grade 7. On the day of the clinic, make sure you have had breakfast and wear a short sleeved shirt. If you are absent the day of the vaccination clinic, you are asked to contact the Public Health office, 856-2401 to make an appointment for another date.

 Gr. 6 Boys badminton team is asked to meet Mme. Levesque in the gym at morning break.

 On May 3rd at 1:30pm RMS will be celebrating the completion of our RMS Pottery Mandala. This community celebration will involve those classes that assisted in the creation of this project. Teachers please check your email at noon to see which pm classes will be attending.

 Student Cell Phone usage at RMS
We need your help, over the last few weeks we have noticed an increase in the inappropriate use of cell phones by students. This inappropriate use ranges from, students/staff pictures being taken without consent, texting during instructional time, recording of staff members without consent, calling from class to class to sending threats.   As per ASDE policy 722, responding to student threats, all threats are taken seriously and may involve the RCMP if deemed appropriate.   Your parent/guardian have signed with a cellular carrier for you to have a cellular device. Please review RMS student expectations around proper usage of device while at school.

This week yummy local apples were delivered to RMS as part of a DEC initiative to promote local, healthy eating choices in partnership with Chartwells.  We have an apple for every student and staff member. We will be delivering apples to homeroom classes this morning and at 11:00 we will all take a “Big Crunch!” together to celebrate local, healthy eating choices.
