4. On Tuesday, Oct. 16th the first of three public meetings organized by the District Education Council and Superintendent will take place to determine the fate of our three Sackville Schools.  We hope you can join us at TRHS at 7pm for this important meeting that will affect our entire community.

Based on the District Education Council’s recommendation last May, a sustainability study is underway, which consists of three public meetings, culminating in a proposal by the DEC to the Dept. of Education on the reconfiguration of our schools by the end of November.  Please see the ASD-E website where you can find more information, are able to submit feedback and request to present at the second meeting scheduled for Nov. 12th.

Important Message from TRHS

Hello Titan Families,

We are using a new system for communication this year in Anglophone East called School Messenger.  You have already been receiving general messages from the school via this system.  You have likely noticed that it is contacting you via multiple ways.  You can set your communication preferences for general messages by visiting the School Messenger app or School Messenger web site and setting up an account using the e-mail you have provided to the school.

After this weekend, beginning Tuesday, October 9th, we will be requiring parents to use this system to report their child’s absence from school.  If you call the school to report an absence, you will be directed to the School Messenger notification system to report that your child will be late or absent.  Follow the prompts to report the absence and reason.

You can also report absences using the School Messenger App, web site, or toll-free phone number.  More information can be found on the ASD-E website at:

http://web1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/ASD-E/Pages/default.aspx

We encourage you to enter your child’s absence before the start of the school day.

If an absence has not been reported, parents will be notified in the morning by the system if their child is not in school and prompted to enter an absence code.  If an absence is still unexcused, the system will call again at the end of the day.  Parents can report an absence up until 11 pm on the day it occurs.

Thank you,

Mrs. Lafford

Good afternoon from TRHS:

1. We are still missing many books.  Calls were made and letters were sent home if your child has not returned textbooks or library books.  These need to be returned or payment for replacement made by tomorrow (when students pick up report cards).

2. Report cards will be distributed tomorrow from 8:30-10:00am, by grade, in the foyer.  Buses will make their regular morning run to transport students to school and will depart TRHS at 12:30pm.  Students with alternate transportation may leave after receiving their report card.

3. Students moving into grades 10-12 will receive their tentative course schedule for next year.  Those moving to grade 11 and 12 who would like to request course changes for next year are encouraged to do so tomorrow or Monday.

4. Attached to your e-mail is our summer office hours schedule.

5. We wish all of our students and families a fantastic summer!

Grad Message from TRHS
Good afternoon,

This is a reminder to Grads participating in the Grand March that they should be at TRHS at 5:30 this evening.  Doors open to ticket holders at 6:00pm.  Blue tickets are for the gym and gold tickets are for the foyer.  We would like to remind everyone that there is no smoking on TRHS property, including the grounds.

Grads are invited to the Drew Nursing Home between 2:30-3:30pm to visit with the residents; this is a highlight of their year!

An informal gathering for pictures will take place at the Swan Pond from 4-5pm.
Grads and guests are reminded that there is no tolerance for being under the influence of drugs or alcohol at school events, including those taking place this evening.

Students taking part in Safe Grad will be permitted to leave their prom attire at the school until they return from Safe Grad Friday morning.  Parents are reminded to pick up students at the school between 5:45-6:00am.

Grads who attend Safe Grad will get their report cards upon arrival back at the school Friday morning.  All other Grads should come in to pick up report cards Friday between 8:30-10:00am.

We look forward to celebrating with our 2018 Grads this evening!
