We have had a great first week of school. Our students are getting acquainted with their teachers, meeting new friends , catching up with current friends, and learning expectations and routines!

Our online payment of school fees  (through Paypal) is now live and ready to go! The  K-2 fee is $20 and the grade 3-5 fee is $25 with a family maximum of $50. Students in Mrs. Kilpatrick, Mrs. Milburn, and Mrs. McNeill will pay the same fee as the other K-2 students. The link to the online payment is: https:// bigsanto.formbin.com/forms/fes_school_fees. The link can also be found on the top right corner of our school website:  https://secure1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/ASD-S/1930/Pages/default.aspx . We encourage online payment but cheques made payable to “Fairvale Elementary School” will continue to be accepted.

Grade 5 Leadership applications will be distributed to interested students on Monday and are due by Friday, Sept. 12th. Please encourage your son or daughter to apply. There are many different roles that fit the various interests and needs of our students.

Please expect two information sheets to come home on Monday. The allergy/ anaphylaxis information is on purple paper and the “Right To Information and Protection of Privacy Act” is on line green paper. Please complete and return both.

The website for Healthy Lunch orders will remain open until Sept. 11th with the first food period starting the week of September 15th.

We ask that parents who drive their children to school to use one of the drop off locations or park in front of the playground.  For safety reasons, only staff should be on the playground. If you are walking your child to the playground entrance, please say your goodbyes at the gate.

Morning Open Gym starts this week with Grade 1 students on Monday, Grade 2 students on Tuesday, Gr. 3 students on Wednesday, Gr. 4 on Thursday and Gr. 5 on Friday. On their designated day, children are welcome to go to the gym for activity stations instead of going to the playground.

The Rainbows program will be offered this fall, beginning in October.  Rainbows is a program for children who have experienced a significant loss in their lives through death, illness, divorce, separation, or an- other painful transition. If you feel your child could benefit from participating in this program or you have questions, please contact our guidance counsellor, Ms. Casey at 847-6304 or kerry.casey@nbed.nb.ca
