Information Items:
-Thank you to everyone who participated in our fall fundraiser. Orders were due back yesterday but we will accept any late orders on Monday morning. Orders will be tallied and sent to the company at the end of the day Monday.
-Boundaries are now finalized for the valley elementary schools with the addition of the new elementary school currently being constructed in Quispamsis. Please use the tool on the district website to determine school by street name. The link is https://secure1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/ASD-S/Pages/New%20Quispamsis%20K-5%20School.aspx.
-To date we have had 56 register for kindergarten next year. Of that number, 43 live in the area that will remain FES and 13 will be attending the new elementary school next year.  Please encourage your friends and family who have not registered to drop into the school as soon as possible to do so. The Kick Off To Kindergarten session for parents will be on Thursday evening. Oct. 23rd @ 7:30.

- Our Career Expo is on Friday, Nov. 7th for the entire day. I know the letter sent on Wednesday indicated that it was  morning only but there would be no way 27 classes could visit in a half day. We would love to have parents stay the entire day, but definitely understand that it is time commitment and welcome those who may only be able to commit for a half  day. Please contact Kerry Casey, our guidance counselor, at Kerry.Casey@nbed.nb.ca or at 847-6304 for more information. The information and signup sheet came home on blue paper on Wednesday and is also attached to this message.

-Student Led Clubs applications will be distributed to interested grade 4 and 5 students on Monday. We have made a change for grade 3 students based on our experiences the past couple of years. Many of the grade 3 students love to run clubs but do not necessarily have the skills and experiences to plan and carry out activities independently. As a result,   we have designed a “Leader In Training” program where our grade 3 students will be paired with grade 4 and 5 students who have similar interests and they will work and train as junior club leaders.  This will enable them to grow as leaders.

- The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development realizes the importance of keeping parents informed on all educational matters and policy developments. In keeping with this mandate, personnel at the Department and District Level will be hosting parent information sessions in regard to Policy 322 which establishes the requirements to ensure New Brunswick public schools are inclusive. Each parent session will focus on the intent of Policy 322 which is "the pairing of philosophy and pedagogical practices that allows each student to feel respected, confident and safe so he or she can participate with peers in the common learning environment and learn and develop to his or her full potential". Parents will gain an understanding of the intent and practice of this important educational policy and have an opportunity to ask questions related to clarification of this policy. Parents are encouraged to attend one of the following information sessions within Hampton Education Center:
Wednesday, October 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sussex Regional High School Library
Thursday, October 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hampton High School Library
Tuesday, October 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rothesay High School Library
(Please feel free to attend any one of the three information session convenient with your
schedule. We look forward to seeing you in the near future.)

- The KV Community Hockey League (KVCHL) is a family oriented organization that
believes that youth should have the opportunity to play non - contact hockey in a
fun, safe and supportive environment.THE KVCHL is the answer for those kids and families who want to play hockey without the travel, commitment and pressure of organized hockey. The KVCHL is a totally non competitive, fun alternative to organized hockey. It
allows each player to learn fundamental skills and basic team concepts in a more
laid back atmosphere. All players are welcome in the KVCHL regardless of size, skill level or hockey experience. Players (excluding KVMHA recreational goalies) can only be
registered in KVCHL or KVMHA.
All players get equal ice time.
