This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School. Here is your weekly edition of the HES Hawk Squawk.

As some of you may know, one of our students lost their sister last year due to complications from Muscular Dystrophy. To honour her memory, the student and her family will be participating in the Walk for Muscular Dystrophy. In order to support the family, we have come up with a fun collection of activities next week. Students may bring in a small donation each day or a single donation for the week. Monday is Hat Day, Tuesday is Crazy Hair Day, Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day with “Just Dance” videos in the gym at recess, Thursday is PJ Day and Friday is Wear Green for Muscular Dystrophy as well as an afternoon walk. Each day homeroom teachers will collect donations of money for MD. In combination with staff dress down money on Friday, a grand total will be announced by students at the end of the day Friday.

Pink Shirt Day will take place on Wednesday and we encourage all students to wear as much pink as possible. Our Guidance Lessons will be focused on kindness and how we can all contribute to a world that is free from bullying by being kind to one another and by standing up to others using our WITS.

A reminder, Mrs. Long (secretary) is still away on a planned leave until after the March Break. Ms. Graham is replacing her for this time. Her email is Joan.Graham@nbed.nb.ca

March Hot Lunch orders begin on Thursday as it is the first of March!

Our Parent School Support Committee meets Monday evening. We will be demonstrating and reviewing newly purchased materials which contribute to the social emotional development of our students, reading an article about Mental Health in Schools and planning our Parent Power Night.

After School Activities: Mad Science continues Tuesday and Robotics on Friday.
