This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School. Here is your weekly edition of the HES Hawk Squawk.

Safety Procedures: We had a planned fire drill practice this afternoon. The students and staff exited the building quickly and quietly in under a minute.

SPRING IS HERE! We had special visitors in our courtyard this week – our annual duck visit. For the past couple of years, a set of ducks have chosen our courtyard to nest and lay eggs. Each year we welcome baby ducklings and last year our students helped line the hallways for a duckling celebration to the marsh. Our classes have also been busy planting marigolds in our Greenhouse in preparation for our flower beds.

Milk Orders Start Monday: New milk orders start on Monday. Thank you to the 37 families who signed up for our new “cashless schools” option where you can pay by credit card – this is going to be a convenient option for families in the 2018-2019 school year.

PSSC Meeting: On Monday our Parent School Support Committee (PSSC) meets at 6:30PM in the school library. The PSSC is excited to host our second annual PARENT POWER NIGHT on Thursday evening at 6:30PM. Child care for school age children is available on a limited basis. Please call the school 832-6021 to register for one of these spots.

News from the Home and School: A continued thank you to our Home and School members who held another after school movie this week. The students were incredibly well behaved and they loved the movie. Congratulations to Braydon for winning a copy of the movie to take home! All hot lunch orders for the month of May are due by Friday, April 20th!

GOOD LUCK: Next week some of our Grade 5 students will be representing our school at the badminton jamboree at Westfield School. Good luck to these students! Good luck to one of our H.E.S. students, Orri Gionet, participating in the Provincial Chess Tournament this weekend!

After School Activities: On Friday, Robotics continues with the Spring term (session #3/10). There are still a few spots remaining in this great enrichment program for aspiring engineers! It is open to both NEW and CONTINUING Robotics students and runs for 10 weeks. http://www.robonorthamerica.com/course/course_01_beginner.php

Our weekly Hawk Squawk is always posted on our school website under the Synrevoice tab!
