This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School. Here is your weekly edition of the HES Hawk Squawk.

Thank you to the PSSC members who were able to assist with our Open House on Monday evening. Your help with tours was greatly appreciated. Today we welcomed the Grade 2 students and Grade 1 French Immersion students from DATL for a visit of classrooms and tour in the morning and a lovely walk for Disability Awareness Week to close out our day today! A reminder that Big Fair Day is just 15 days away!
On Monday, Hampton Elementary is holding the Regional Roots of Empathy celebration and several of our current and former students will be sharing their experiences with having Roots in their classrooms.
Our final Home and School meeting for the school year will be held on Thursday evening to finalize plans for Big Fair Day. If you are planning to volunteer, this would be a great meeting to attend. 6:30PM in the school library!
We have our Grade 4 students finishing their Provincial Exams (beginning Monday and running until June 8th).

We were able to raise $358 for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund).
“I Read, We Read, H.E.S. Reads!” Did you know there are only 2 Fridays left before the end of the school year? At H.E.S we would like to unite with families and the community to boost students’ reading skills. Each Friday, you are welcome to join us from 8:15a.m. until 8:45a.m. to listen to our students reading. Reading aloud helps build fluency, improves comprehension and helps develop critical reasoning. The reader is more invested in the process and is more likely to think about what he or she is saying while reading. More importantly, reading aloud builds reading confidence!

Home and School Reminders:
Spring Basket Fundraiser: Our baskets are available for viewing in the lobby or on the H&S Facebook Page. Tickets are $2 for one or 3 for $5.00.
Donations for Big Fair Day – we are always looking for people to volunteer their time for Big Fair Day, but for those who are unable to do so, we suggest helping with donations. Items requested include: water, juice, prizes (dollar store items, trinket type items, loot bag prizes etc).

Our weekly Hawk Squawk is always posted on our school website under the Synrevoice tab!

Coming up:
June 6th Half Day for students (Report Card Preparation P.M.)
