This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School with your weekly edition of the H.E.S. Hawk Squawk. Highlights for this week include: WITS kickoff assembly, Photo Retakes, Career Expo and Home & School Fundraisers!
HES is a WITS school - The WITS Programs bring together schools, families and communities to create responsive environments that help elementary school children deal with bullying and peer victimization.. You can find out more about WITS here: http://www.witsprogram.ca/families/using-wits-with-your-children/
Picture Retakes will be held Wednesday, October 24th. Students must have submitted signed permission to have retakes.
SAFE ARRIVAL: Some quick information that was shared by parents in the community, when they are seeing 1.833.219.9065 come up on their call display, they are not answering as they think it is a Robo call but it is actually Safe Arrival.  If you have parents saying they are not getting the Safe Arrival call it may be that they are not answering because they do not recognize the caller id.
CAREER EXPO FORMS: We are still looking for volunteers for our career expo on the morning of Nov. 2. You do not have to be a parent – we welcome all members of the community to share their profession with our students. Please call the school 832-6021 or email nancy.long@nbed.nb.ca or sarah.blanchard@nbed.nb.ca if you are able to participate.
Home and School: Thanks to those who attended our After School Movie on Thursday. Other H&S events include:
·        Coffee Fundraiser: Our Home and School is selling coffee as a fundraiser Oct 15-25. All proceeds will support the playground fund. The class with the most coffee sales wins a Popcorn Party!
·        Used Clothing Donations: Our Home and School will be POSTPONING the used clothing drive (new date is November 25th which coincides with Parent Teacher Meetings as well as the Holiday Extravaganza). It is a great opportunity to clear out your closets before the winter. All clothing will be weighed and money will be donated to the playground fund.
French Second Language Learning Opportunity (Gr 3-7): Located at Snider Mountain Ranch. June 3rd, 2019 - June 19th, 2019. Deadline to register is October 31st. Download a reservation form and find additional information on 2019 pricing at: https://www.cpfnb.org/snider-mountain-2019

Have a great weekend!
