Hi everyone,

It’s Lisa Jardine calling from Leatherbarrow Primary School with your Tuesday talk mail.

Mad Science starts today after school. Please be here to pick up your child at 3:00pm.

This Wednesday, is a half day for students as all staff will be involved in professional learning. Buses will begin departing at 11:00am.

Teachers have asked me to remind parents that children should not be bringing toys or trading cards to school. We are not “anti-toy” per se, but we have had several incidents lately where toys have been lost, become broken or have been the root of a peer dispute. I understand it may not seem like a big issue when it is only your one child bringing 1 toy to school but when we multiply that by 227, it can be problematic and that is why we have this rule. Thank you for your cooperation.

Attention all mothers, all people who have mothers, and all people who would like to win some fabulous gifts. Our Home and School is selling tickets on a Mother’s Day basket. A few of the things in the basket include: a night’s stay at Chipman Hill suites, box seating at the Imperial for a Mama Mia performance, a $100.00 gift card for Grannan group restaurants, and $300.00 worth of Tiber River products. Students are bringing home tickets this evening and tickets are available on the Home and School Facebook page. As always, participation in any fundraising initiative is voluntary. If you do not wish to purchase any tickets, please just send them back to the school.

The Hampton Alliance for Lifelong Learning (HALL) is hosting a baby and child gear sale on this Saturday, April 28th from 8:00am until noon at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church located at 978 Main Street. This is a great opportunity for you to shop for loads of gently used baby and children’s clothing, toys, books and equipment. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

That’s it for today! Thanks for listening! Enjoy this beautiful day!
