Hi everyone,
It’s Lisa Jardine calling from Leatherbarrow Primary School with your Tuesday talk mail.

Our May newsletter is being sent out this week. Please take some time to read about all the important events happening in the month of May.

Mad Science is happening today after school.

Our PSSC meets tonight at 6:30pm.

There is no school for students this Friday, May 4th, as all teachers across the province are participating in the NBTA Council Day. There is no school for students on Monday, May 7th as teachers are attending our NBTA annual general meeting.

Under the NB Teachers Collective Agreement, this year, all Kindergarten to Grade 8 teachers are to receive two half days each year for report card preparation.  The teachers had a half day in November dedicated to preparation of their report cards. The report cards were new to everyone and this time was appreciated.  On March 15 the Kindergarten to grade 8 teachers were scheduled to have another half day to help with their preparation of the March 2018 Report Cards.  Unfortunately this was a storm closure day across the District.  As a result of this, we must adjust our school calendar so there is a half day dedicated for the June report card preparation at K-8.  This will happen on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 and on that day it will be an early dismissal day for all K to 8 students. We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause, and we hope by giving a one month notice you will be able to make the necessary arrangements.

Tickets are going fast for our awesome Mother’s Day basket! Tickets are $5.00 each, 3 for $12.00 or 6 for $20.00. If you need more tickets, please contact the school. Tickets are due back at the school on May 9th and our winner will be drawn on May 10th. For further information on the basket, please see the Home and School Facebook page or our May newsletter.

That’s it for today! Thanks for listening!
