Hi everyone,

It’s Lisa Jardine calling from Leatherbarrow Primary with your Tuesday talk mail.
We continue to focus on the Being Safe component of our code of conduct, and today, all students participated in the Dinobus safety program.
On Friday morning, we will practice our fire evacuation drill and we will practice going to our first off site location, Hampton Elementary School.
If we ever experience a real emergency where students have to be evacuated from our building because of fire, etc. we will first try to go to Hampton Elementary School. If Hampton Elementary School, is not a safe location for us, we will walk farther away and proceed to the rink. If a threat or emergency is between our school and either HES or the rink, we will take the students around the back of our school and proceed through the trails to the Lighthouse Centre.
We are looking forward to seeing all parents Thursday evening, at our Look What Your Child Can Do night. On this night, you will go to your child’s classroom and your child’s teacher will show you a sample of work your child has done so far, and explain the curricular expectations and literacy and numeracy standards for the first report card and end of the year. This evening is for adults only please.
Mad Science applications are coming home today. It is a first come, first serve registration process so if you are interested in having your child attend Mad Science, please register directly with them soon.
Hampton Minor Basketball Association begins practices next week.  If you would like to register your child for basketball, you can register on line and find more information at http://hmba.pointstreaksites.com/view/hmba.
Looking ahead: Our first terrific Tuesday movie of the year will be on Tuesday, October 16 from 2:00-3:30pm. We will be sending home permission forms soon.

That’s it for today! Thanks for listening!
