Hi everyone,
It’s Lisa Jardine calling from Leatherbarrow Primary with your Tuesday talk mail.
Home and School is meeting tonight at 5:30pm.
May is Food Allergy Awareness month. We have students at our school with life threatening food allergies, so we thank you so much for respecting what foods can, and what foods cannot, be sent to school. If you ever have any questions as to whether a food is safe for your child’s classroom, please check with your child’s teacher. In recognition of Food Allergy Awareness month and The Sweet Caroline Foundation, everyone is encouraged to wear purple tomorrow.
We have workers outside diligently working on our inclusive playground improvements.  If we can keep this sunshine, they might be able to work outside all week! Our hope is to have our playground open for Art from the Heart, but like any construction build, we may experience delays and it may not be open on schedule. We will keep our fingers crossed.
Friday is Transition Day! Our current kindergarten students stay home so that we can welcome our next year’s kindergarten class. Grade 2 students will also be going up to Hampton Elementary for a tour. Our grade 1 French Immersion students are going to the Irving Nature Park on Friday, so I have made arrangements for them to go up to Hampton Elementary School on Thursday morning for a tour.
A reminder that next Thursday, June 6th, is Art from the Heart. Please remember to send in your BBQ order forms by this Friday. You need to have a ticket to redeem food at the BBQ.
Finally, our Volunteer Tea is scheduled for Thursday, June 13 at 12:00pm. If you have volunteered this year and the school, we would love to see you there! Please RSVP at the office so we will know how many are coming.
That’s it for today! Thanks for listening! Enjoy the sunshine!
