​Hi everyone

It’s Lisa Jardine calling from Leatherbarrow Primary School with a talk mail for families of all students coming to Dr. Leatherbarrow this year. Our new school year starts next week, and we are so excited to welcome, and to welcome back our students.

Again this year, all students, k-2, will start school as part of a staggered entry process and come 2 days next week. Your child will start school on Tuesday, Wednesday OR Thursday, and then come on Friday. All students will attend school on Friday.

By now, I am hoping that each have you have spoken to your child’s classroom teacher and have confirmed what day your child starts school, and what they are to bring. If you haven’t spoken to your child’s teacher, please contact the school today so that we can ensure you have all the information you need for a smooth start to school.

Although visitors in schools will be restricted again this year, parents will be permitted to bring your child into the school on your child’s first day. Parents MUST wear a mask, sanitize in the lobby, and sign in at your child’s classroom. In an effort to keep our students as safe as possible, parents and visitors will be permitted to enter the school by appointment only after the first day.

Buses will be back to maximum capacity this year and it is expected that most students will be taking a bus. Please ensure that you know on what bus your child comes to school in the morning, and on what bus your child will take at the end of the day. Students must wear a mask while on a bus.

If you are driving your child to school, please drop your child off between 7:50-8:20am. Students cannot be dropped off before 7:50am as we are unable to provide supervision before this time. Instruction begins at 8:25 am so please have them here by 8:20 so that they can have a smooth start to their day, and benefit from the morning routines of their classrooms.

School supply fees can be paid on-line or sent with your child in a clearly marked envelope.
