Announcements for the week of September 25-29, 2017

These are your Vincent Massey Elementary School weekly announcements for the week of September 25-29.

Friday, September 29 at 1:00pm is Terry Fox run.  You are welcome to join us as we walk around the Point in Terry’s honour.  Donations accepted for cancer research.

September 29 is Orange Shirt Day across Canada.  Students and staff are invited to wear orange shirts as a symbol of the wrongs done by the residential school system to Aboriginal children and communities.  Residential schools left their mark on Aboriginal People, and Orange Shirt Day gives us an opportunity to better understand the history that binds us.

Friday is taco day in the cafeteria.  It is also popcorn day.  Popcorn is 25 cents per bag.

Cross Country Schedule for the week is as follows:

September 25- Monday

October 11-13 is Kindergarten Registration Week.  Anyone children born in 2013 should register them for Kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year.  Please bring their birth certificate, medicare and proof of immunizations with you at that time.  Please call the school at 529-5011 if you have any questions.

Don’t forget to play Gold Rush at the school.  Pick up is on Tuesdays at 3pm.

Fundy Minor Basketball for grades 2, 3 and 4 will run 1 night a week in St. Andrews.  This under 10 registration will take place the first week of October.  More information can be found at www.fundyminorbball.pointstreaksites.com

Have a wonderful week.

Anything is possible if you try.
