Most scratches depending upon depth can be buffed out. Some can be filled with epoxy and and Marble dust. There are other surface materials that can be used along the lines of sealers and waxes that can save the day.

Marble can be repaired to a finish similar to the surrounding areas with epoxies and special materials. Diamond pads that are use in succession cost anywhere from $40 a disk and are used in a succession of up to 5 different diamond grits to achieve successful scratch repair.
