Parent Committee Meeting Feb. 5!

1) If any MES parents are interested in taking a free Reiki certification course on February 21st at MES, please apply with Cathy Halstead, Community Schools Coordinator, at 466-7362. This course would run all day from 8:30-4:30.  Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.

(2) MES will be offering the POWER UP! program starting in March.  POWER UP! is a free leadership training program designed to help you take your next step. The program provides women with the opportunity to focus on life goals and how to meet those goals. POWER UP includes training in communication, leadership, assets, problem solving, conflict resolution, personal goal setting and stress management along with many other topics. If you are interested in our program, you can apply on line at www.sjwen.ca/ or contact Cathy Halstead for an application form.

(3) K-Kids Club is collecting donations of used children’s books - that are in great condition - to hold a book sale in February.  You can drop book donations off at the MES office.

4) deadline for French Immersion is coming up on January 31…you register your child on line at the ASD-S website.  Please note that French Immersion is available for children going into grades 1, 3 and 6.

5) Our next parent committee meeting is coming up on Monday Feb. 5 at 5 PM.   Mark Huys will be speaking on “Keep Calm and Carry On” as a parent and we’ll be offering spaghetti supper and childcare.  Please call the school at 466-7315 to sign up so we know how much food to cook!

6) Our next assembly is Monday Feb. 5 at 10:30 – all are welcome to join us!

7) Grade 1 and 2 will be skating on Wed. at the GCC from 12:30-1:30 PM.
