​Sports:

Attention all athletes involved in afterschool practices/Tryouts – Students should be arriving to the school 10 minutes before a practice or tryout not any earlier. Students should enter the building and go directly to the gym and stay in the gym until the end of practice then exit the building through the main entrance. Students are not allowed to go to their lockers during practice and students should not be roaming the hallways. Vandalism took place last week in our school and this will not be tolerated. Being on a team is a wonderful experience and a great opportunity to be a leader within our school!

The Varsity Girls basketball team will practice today from 3-4:30pm and again on Thursday from 3-4:30pm.

The JV Boys basketball tryouts will continue today from 4:30-6pm. The first team practice will be on Thursday from 4:30-6pm.

The Varsity Boys basketball team will practice on Tuesday from 3-4:30pm.

The JV Girls basketball team will practice on Wednesday from 3-4:30pm.

Grade 7 Intramural action – 7 Foley and 7 Hannam will have the gym 2nd half of lunch today. 

Music:

The Music room will be closed during lunch today. 

QMS is having a virtual variety show on December 22. All talents are welcome and can be submitted electronically. Please sign up outside of the Music room and Mrs. Rattray will give you more information. 

Art:

Grade 8 ArtsSmarts Club meets today after school in the art room.  

QMS Talent Show…  Any students interested in having artwork included in the QMS Virtual Talent Show this December is invited to stop by the art room.  Please come by in the morning before home room or at lunch time with your artwork for Mrs. Stoddart to photograph.  It could be an art project from class, or something you’ve created on your own outside of school.  

Other:

With the Omicron Variant becoming rampant and will be here in no time, please be reminded about proper and effective mask wearing.  We will take this opportunity to ONCE AGAIN tell you that your mask is to be worn OVER YOUR NOSE.  In the halls, in close proximity to others, outside when you can’t maintain a 2 metre distance from others.

Grade 7 on the field end of the parking lot this week, playing intramurals, and in the cafeteria quiet space. Quiet space only available if it is an outdoor noon hour today. Cafeteria will not be available Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday as the turkey dinners are happening these days.

A reminder to all students that there are no other meals being served Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday other than the preordered turkey dinners. Grade 8 eats Tuesday, grade 7 will be served Wednesday, and grade 6 enjoys their meal on Thursday.

This Friday is Fantastic Friday! As students arrive in the morning the Home and School Association will have a table set up out front serving hot chocolate and muffins. Students can purchase hot chocolate or a muffin for one dollar each. What a great way to start your day!
