YMCA of Greater Saint John Peace Awards

​In Celebration of Peace week Nov.15th-22nd , the YMCA of Greater Saint John are seeking nominations for thier Peace Medal and Youth Peace Certificate.

 Peace Medal Selection Criteria
To be chosen as a recipient of the YMCA Canada Peace Medal the person or group nominated should meet as many of the following criteria as possible.
1. The actions of the nominee as a ‘Peace Maker’ have motivated the local community and encouraged others to take action.
2. The actions of the nominee have shown the possibilities for peaceful solutions to ‘violent’ situations, through speech, actions and as a role model.
3. The nominee has demonstrated ways to live in peace – even with those who differ from us, understanding diversity.
4. The nominee works for justice and harmonious development in positive ways.
5. The nominee has not sought out public recognition for the work they do.
6. The nominee promotes peace at any of these various levels:
a. The Family
b. The Community
c. Nationally
d. Globally

1. The actions of the nominee as a ‘Peace Maker’ have motivated the local community and encouraged other youth to take action.
2. The actions of the nominee have shown the possibilities for peaceful solutions to ‘violent’ situations, through speech, actions and as a role model for all youth.
3. The nominee has demonstrated ways to live in peace – even with those who differ from us, understanding diversity.
4. The nominee works for justice and harmonious development in positive ways.
5. The nominee has not sought out public recognition for the work they do.
6. The nominee promotes peace at any of these various levels:
a. The Family
b. The Community
c. Nationally
d. Globally
