This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School.
Please be advised, the speed limit on School Street is 20km/hr. There have been several vehicles speeding down this street. These are our children and we need to be extra careful to follow the posted speed limit. Police have been advised and will be patrolling the area. We thank you for your cooperation.
Thank you to those members of our PSSC who attended the District Orientation presentation on Tuesday evening. This week we also collected back all of the Fundraising Forms. Thank you to everyone for their support. We will let you know next week what our grand total is. This evening our Home and School is excited to show our first movie of the 2016-2017 school year. This is a great opportunity to spend some family time together on a wet evening. The movie is a Secret Life of Pets. Students can dress up in Halloween costumes if they wish. A reminder to bring blankets or chairs as no seating is provided.
Word of the Week –Our word of the week was scintillating – which means to sparkling & with a brilliant wit.
Cross Country Fun Run – This week marked the last Cross Country meet. Congratulations to all our students participating. In order to allow for all our students to have the experience of Cross Country. We will be holding a school Fun Run event similar to the Cross Country meet but held at the noon hour on Friday. This is open to all students interested in running the course and parents can always stop by to cheer on our runners! We will be using the field in front of the school.
We need your HELP Chess club is looking for a parent to help with supervision on Tuesday at noon 11:50-12:35. We have 42 students signed up for Chess and almost all can play independent. They are a great group teaching one another new strategies.
The next round of milk order forms will head home on Monday. We also received student photo packages from Harvey studios so those will be sent home on Monday as well.
Halloween: This is an advance notice to let you know students are permitted to wear orange and black next Monday (October 31st) – no costumes allowed.
UNICEF: UNICEF is on a mission to reach every child and ensure their well-being, no matter where they are in this world. UNICEF is the only organization listed in the Convention on the Rights of the Child as the global leader for children. The UNICEF committee has collaborated to organize some fun activities to collect money for UNICEF. We are asking students to bring in donations to participate in the activities (any amounts of change will be accepted). See details below.
CAREER EXPO: We are looking for volunteers to participate in our 3rd Annual Career Expo. The new format was introduced two years ago and students had a fantastic time exploring all of the interactive stations, asking questions and discovering the role in the community of these professions. Contact the office at 832-6021 or sarah.blanchard@nbed.nb.ca
WITS KICK OFF: Next week we will have our WITS kick off assembly. Check out the parent resources here: http://www.witsprogram.ca/families/using-wits-with-your-children/
