Sports:

The JV Boys Soccer team had a tremendous first game. The players passed and moved the ball with a lot of success. The team was very respectful toward the other team. Score was 9-1 for our Cougars. Special thanks to Chris Fowlow for filling in as referee.

The Varsity Girls soccer team played a strong game yesterday against Hampton, but ended up with a loss of 2-0.  The girls held their heads high and showed great sportsmanship. A reminder that there will be a soccer practice after school on Monday for the Girls Varsity team.

Good luck to the Varsity Boys Soccer team as they host their first game today at 4 pm.

There will be a JV Girls Soccer game today at RNS at 4 pm. Reminder to arrive by 3:30 pm. Good luck girls!

There will be a Cross Country practice today and Monday at lunchtime.

Badminton will NOT happen today but will continue on Monday next week.

Music:

It is time again for Singing Club!  The group had fun singing last week and would like more of you to join this week.  If you would like to join Singing Club, please come to the Music room after school.  Our practice will go until 4:15pm.

From the Wellness Centre:

All students who have a disability or are neurodiverse AND any students who are Allys are invited to visit DNA today at lunch. Hope to see lots of you there today.

Art:

Art & Poster Club members should stop by the art room at lunch time today to pick up the permission forms.  Forms must be returned on Monday for you to stay for our first meeting after school.

Remember the ArtsSmarts ‘Minda Project’?...  In June, Gr. 8 students arranged 14, 280 pieces of painted cardboard on the Qplex floor to create a portrait of Minda Burley, a survivor of the Sixties Scoop.  A recap of our project is scheduled to be featured on CTV’s ‘Live at 5’ today in support of our National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.

Also today, Rothesay High School is creating a massive childhood portrait of another Sixties Scoop survivor on the large field in front of their school.  Everyone is welcome to show support for ‘Every Child Matters’ at RHS today - opening remarks start at the high school at 6:00 this evening.

Other:

The Rubik's Cube Club will be gathering today during the second half of lunch in Room 207 with Mrs. Foley. Drop in today with your cube! The meetings are very casual and student-led with conversations, tips and tricks. We would love to see some new students today.

Photos – Please send any late picture orders to the office. Retakes will be done on Monday, Oct 3rd. If you were absent on picture day, please come to have your photo taken on Monday.

Today is Orange Shirt Day, lots of resources were sent out to staff to use with classes today. It is a day of reflection and learning as we move forward with the healing journey. Thank you to all staff and students who wore orange shirts today, HR teachers are asked to send percentages to Mme Spinks for points.
