This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School. Here is your weekly edition of the HES Hawk Squawk. Our word of the week was prologue meaning a short introduction to set the scene of a story or play. Thank you to the PSSC members who were able to assist with our Open House on Monday evening. Your help with tours was greatly appreciated. Today we welcomed the Grade 2 students from DATL for a visit of classrooms and tour in the morning and a lovely walk for Disability Awareness Week to close out our day today! A reminder that Big Fair Day is just 15 days away!
BIG FAIR DAY COUNTDOWN
15 more days
Here is a glimpse of Momma duck in our courtyard!! She has at least 12 eggs in her nest. The students have been watching closely and are eagerly awaiting the hatching of the ducklings! This is the second year a duck has nested in our courtyard.
Coming up this week:
Grade 4 Power will be visiting the Hammond River Angling Association on Monday morning to release their salmon through the Fish Friends Project. As part of our transition plan, our Grade 5 classes will be visiting Hampton Middle School for a visit and tour on Monday.
On Monday, Hampton Elementary is holding the Regional Roots of Empathy celebration and several of our current and former students will be sharing their experiences with having Roots in their classrooms.
On Wednesday we are welcoming our Healthy Learner Nurse, Ann Hogan, to the school to visit classes as part of Safe Kids Week. Ms. Hogan will be sharing information about Helmet Safety with the students as well as an egg experiment to demonstrate the important of wearing a helmet!
Thursday the SJ String Quartet will be here for their annual visit sharing musical selections and answering questions about string instruments with all students.
Our final Home and School meeting for the school year will be held on Thursday evening to finalize plans for Big Fair Day. If you are planning to volunteer, this would be a great meeting to attend. 6:30PM in the school library!
Afterschool Activities this week: Robotics After School will be on Friday next week.
