This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School.

 

Thank you for remembering to send in your Healthy Lunch Orders. The new order runs from Sept 25th until October 31st. The daily options will be posted above for your reference. The November order will be due by October 20th.

This week we will practice our “hold and secure and lockdown” drill.

Cross Country Fun continues this week, Sept. 27th as well as Oct. 11th and Oct. 18th. The Oct. 4th run will take place at Reversing Falls Park in Saint John with Saint John Ed Centre students also participating. The grade 5 Soccer Jamboree will take place on Thursday, September 28th from 2:30-3:45 at KVHS for interested students.

Student fees and school supply fees ($60) are collected each fall to help cover the cost of consumable school supplies, skating program, visiting performers and authors, and agendas. These are due by the end of the month. If you require a payment plan, please contact the school to arrange. The deadline to submit fees is September 29th!

URGENT REQUEST: We are looking for a few more recycling champions. If you would be able to visit our school before or after hours and pick up our blue bin (pre-sorted cardboard, plastics, milk and metal), we want to hear from you. Please email Mr. Raymond at bryan.raymond@nbed.nb.ca We are also looking for CRIB boards as well as MODELLING clay to start clubs at school.

Our Terry Fox Walk is scheduled for Friday afternoon. Parents are welcome to join us for this event! We ask students to bring toonies next week to be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.

The Rainbows program will be offered this fall at Hampton Elementary, beginning in October. Rainbows is a YMCA program designed to support children who have experienced a significant loss in their lives such as a death, illness, family divorce/separation, or any another painful transition. If you feel your child could benefit from participating in this program or if you have questions, please contact our guidance counsellor, Ms. Laird at 832-6021 or email Dianne.Laird@nbed.nb.ca

AFTERSCHOOL ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

1.     Jennifer Kruger from Estey Art Creations will be running an afterschool art program for students beginning Tuesday, Sept. 27th. Parents are responsible for picking up their child. Interested students can receive more information or sign up at jennifer@esteycreations.com

2.     ROBO Science North America will be running an after school Robotics Building Program on Friday’s beginning Fri. Sept. 22nd. Parents are responsible for picking up their child at 4:45PM. Interested students can receive more information or sign up at jhj2009@robonorthamerica.com There are still a few more spaces available!

What’s happening in the Community?

 

Does your child enjoy swimming? Panthers Volleyball Club  - Boys and Girls Mini Volleyball Program- Grades 3 to 5. The Mini program is a 10-week program at Harry Miller-  Every Friday starting Sept. 29- 6:30 to 7:30-  $100 (includes a t-shirt)- email registration form to kerriharris@hotmail.com or bring to first session.
