This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School. Our Friday movie Night: Cars 3 last week a good turnout. We were able to raise a few hundred dollars which will help support the purchase of Recorders for our music program.
Thank you to those parents/families who have already signed up for our Annual Career Expo for next week as part of Atlantic Career Week. We can still accept a couple more volunteers if you are interested in sharing your career with our 255 students. Many special activities in the District are happening next week including Take Our Kids to Work for Grade 9 students. Atlantic Canada Career Week (October 30th-November 3rd) website is www.atlanticcanadacareerweek.ca

Next week we have students and teachers who are coordinating fundraising for UNICEF. Monday is Hat Day, Tuesday is Black and Orange Day, Wednesday is pajama day, Thursday is Jersey Day and Friday is Tie Day. You may donate once for the entire week of activities. Please be conscientious in sending in treats for our students as we continue to promote Policy 711: Healthy Nutrition in Schools.
Please find attached to our Hawk Squawk, a copy of the Provincial K-8 Report Card Parent Information document that was sent with the June report card. Please review the new rating scale and understand there is a significant change in the way students are being assessed this year using Standards Based Grading.
The Fall Book Fair is coming up soon! Class visits will be held on Nov.22nd - 23rd and the Book Fair will also be open during parent/teacher conferences. If you would like to volunteer for any of these dates or would like to help with the Book Fair please email Mme. Leblanc nicole.fougere-leblanc@nbed.nb.ca
The District Office are in the beginning stages of planning program information evenings for parents of students currently in kindergarten, grades 3 and 5.  These will begin mid-November and finish early December if the weather cooperates!  Dates will be posted on the ASD-S website.
Looking for: Our popular Friday knitting club is looking for more needles and crochet hooks of any size. Donations can be dropped off to the school at any time.
