​The members of Triple C, Quispamsis Middle School’s youth empowerment club, headed up a school-wide initiative called “SOCKtober” as way to help keep those dependent on shelters in Saint John warm this winter. The entire school collected new pairs of socks for three weeks and were in competition with each other to see which homeroom classes could bring in the most amount of socks. The QMS staff and Triple C members are pleased to announce that the school was able to collect a total of 2, 879 pairs of socks for 4 Saint John shelters! They also held a bake sale and a “sock hop” during the campaign and were able to provide the Saint John Boys and Girls Club with 53 pairs of new pajamas for their annual Christmas party that supports the kids that take part in their lunch program.
