This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School with your weekly edition of the H.E.S. Hawk Squawk. Highlights for this week include: Chess Tournament, Library Books, Christmas Concerts, Triathlon Medal Design, Tell Them From Me Surveys, the SJ String Quartet and Kids Helping Kids!
Good luck to our Chess Club students who are competing in the District Education Center Chess Tournament on Saturday, December 8th.
Our library is closing for the holidays. Please remember to return all books before the busy holidays!

School Christmas Concerts: Wednesday, December 12th. There will be two concerts again this year at 9 a.m. for last name A-K and 11 a.m. for last name L-Z. We will gladly accept donations to the Hampton Food Basket in lieu of an admission fee. A reminder about our VIP/best seat in the house fundraiser. Winning ticket will be drawn Tuesday afternoon! Winning tickets receive reserved parking and preferred front row seating and a few treats. The funds raised will be used to support our Playground fundraising.

Triathlon Medal Contest Students are invited to produce a unique design for the Hampton Ladies Triathlon medal. All entries must be received before the holidays.

KIDS HELPING KIDS (Caught you Caring): For many years we have come up with a plan that encourages empathy and compassion in the students’ lives leading up to the holiday season. This is a special program that recognizes students who are "caught" helping a fellow student in need or doing a deed for others. We have decided to post these on the wall outside the gym. Please take a moment to celebrate all the wonderful acts of caring happening at Hampton Elementary School.

The TELL them FROM me (TTFM) Student Survey is a web-based survey that measures student engagement. It gives schools reliable and timely data based on student voice. Students in Grades 4 and 5 will be completing this survey beginning this week.

Saint John String Quartet will be visiting for a performance on Friday for all students.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS (Cost associated):
·        After school Robotics: The Robotics after school program will be running a Winter term this year. This is an ongoing program where prior students may enroll again to continue on their Robotics levels. It is also open to brand new students who are interested in learning about and creating Robotics. More info can be found in the attached brochure.
·        Poley Mountain Ski program: Forms available through the office. Transportation and Supervision is the responsibility of the parent.

The Hampton High School SRC is trying to raise money for their leadership development fund. One of the fundraisers is a Christmas babysitting service. There will be lots of supervision, crafts, games, and holiday fun. We are asking that people call 832-6024 or HamptonHS.SRC@gmail.com to confirm a spot. Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that on our original flyer, the email address was incorrect. We just want to make sure that we have the correct number of chaperones and student volunteers to accommodate all those who are interested.
