Qualifications

Qualifications:
·        M. Ed (Exceptionalities or Guidance) or equivalent post-graduate
·        New Brunswick Teacher’s Certificate, Level VI
·        Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA Candidate)
·        EECD Autism Level 2/3 training or equivalent
·        Successful experience as an EST-R
·        Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches would be an asset
·        Combination of education and experience may be considered
·        Willingness to travel

·       Commitment to ongoing learning, education and professional development
·       Ability to work as a team member independently with minimal supervision
·       Evidence of leadership ability
·       High regard for confidentiality (RTIPPA, PHIPA)
·       Initiative, diligence and professional judgement along with problem solving skills

INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION
1.0 Fte. Behavior Specialist – Lead Teacher
Anglophone South School District
Office of the Superintendent
August 2017-June 2018 with the possibility of extension
Description:
This position provides support for students with very complex behavioral needs in response to district requests. Duties may include: behavioral assessment, data analysis, development of Individualized Behavior Support Plans (IBSP’s), liaison with home to promote consistency of programming/strategies among various intervention settings, working with other departments (ISD) or Tertiary Centers to develop wrap around strategies for students with significant behavioral issues.
Implementation of support programs for children who have complex behavioral needs. This will involve: providing support to optimize student support, maintaining written documentation and data; choosing interventions with documented empirical effectiveness for children as a basis of educational services, and guiding staff in the use of efficient, accurate and non-intrusive data collection to enable decision making.
The successful candidate will promote the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and develop, implement and support the programming for students with significant behavioral issues.
