This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School with your weekly edition of the H.E.S. Hawk Squawk.

It was a momentous occasion Thursday as we acknowledged all of the work of our Grade 5 Leadership students and wished them Farewell on their journey moving up to Middle School. Best of luck to Ms. Shannon (long term supply teacher), Ms. Dickie (EA), Ms. Higgins (EA) and our amazing secretary Mrs. Nancy Long who is moving to a library position for the 2019-2020 school year. If your child was not at school Friday, report cards are available for pick up in the office until Tuesday at 12.

Moving in? Moving Out? If you are aware of any new students moving into our zone, please let us know so we can prepare our classrooms for the Fall. I am available all summer via email: sarah.blanchard@nbed.nb.ca

LOST AND FOUND: We still have a large number of shoes, boots, jackets, sweaters and other bits of clothing. Feel free to come into the school on Monday and Tuesday to gather any missing items.

WEBSITE: Our website is a great place to check out over the summer http://web1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/ASD-S/1939/Pages/default.aspx You can find my Principals End of Year Letter link at the top of the page.

2019-2020 End of Year Feedback survey: Thank you to the 74 people who have already completed our YEAR END survey. The link to the survey will close later this evening.

Are you a GREENTHUMB? We are looking for families to adopt a week in our courtyard garden to help with watering and weeding over the summer! We have planted pumpkins, carrots, potatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Gardening is a great way to teach responsibility. Please email me if you are able to dedicate a specific week of the summer to helping our garden grow. School access can be between 6am-7pm. Sarah.blanchard@nbed.nb.ca indicating the week you are able to volunteer!

School Fees 2019-2020 – Parents provided feedback through a school wide survey that they prefer an all-inclusive student fee that included school supplies. What does the school fee cover?
Total Cost: $60 per student

Gr 2 FI and Gr 3-5 English and French Immersion

Amount
Rationale
 $40
This part of the fee covers all student consumable supplies. With ten months of the year, this works out to $4 a month per student and covers: pencils, erasers, paper, notebooks, duotangs, markers, crayons, glue, art supplies. Items such as scissors and rulers are recycled from year to year and are replenished on an as needed basis.
$20
This part of the fee covers student fees for items and performances. For example, students will receive a student agenda ($7), three school performances, 8-10 skating sessions at the Hampton Community Centre in the Fall or Winter as well as two swimming session in the Spring.
Families are required to provide the following:
•boxes of tissue (2-3 per student)
•1 set of inexpensive ear buds/ ear phones (ear phones preferred)
•Indoor sneakers
•1 backpack
•1 lunch bag
***there may be times towards the end of the year when items such as pencils are requested to be replenished.

Have a great weekend!
