Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

Applicants must possess a N.B. Teaching Certificate, a preference to B Contract teachers with Anglophone South School District, have a minimum of five (5) years teaching experience in the public school system teaching in the area of early literacy, knowledge of both the New Brunswick curriculum framework for Early Learning and Child Care and K-2 curriculum documents and resources; demonstrated experience collaborating with educators; experience with and knowledge of inclusive practices, differentiation, and formative assessment. Experience in facilitating professional learning is also a requirement for this position. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills, and effective communication skills. The ability to bridge the two learning 

environments and incorporate best literacy practices for early learning (0-8 years of age) will be the focus of this position. These qualifications should be clearly documented in the resume.

Job Description

Description:

The Education Support Teacher for Early Learning Literacy Lead will collaborate with the Elementary Literacy Coordinator and Early Childhood Director to support initiatives of the 10 Year Education Plan. The successful candidate will work with schools and early childhood education centres to coach and co-teach with educators and teachers and facilitate professional learning in the area of early literacy within the early childhood and early year’s curricula.

Areas of Responsibly:

Leading change at the K-2 level by:

·        Support in the form of coaching, co-planning and co-teaching with educators who teach children from 0-8

·        Facilitate literacy support in both early learning settings: childcare facilities and community organizations and grades K-2

·        Participate in district level meetings/training/professional learning

·        Coordinate existing and new initiatives to support early learning 0-8 years of age

·        Other related duties
