Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicants should possess a Masters of Education degree with a minimum of three (3) years’ leadership experience either as a school principal or vice-principal, SPR, district mentor, district specialist or subject coordinator.  A working knowledge of high school operations, course offerings, programs of study and assessment/reporting processes are assets.  A knowledge of, and preferably experience in scheduling or supporting schools through the scheduling process is essential.  Experience and demonstrated ability to successfully organize and lead both web-based and face-to-face training sessions is essential.  Preference will be given to B contract teachers in the District.

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:  The candidate will demonstrate the educational knowledge, computer skills, aptitudes, abilities, and competence needed to perform the duties described above.

Job Description

Anglophone South School District is seeking expressions of interest for a District Pedagogical Support Position for the Student Information System.  This is one year Leave of Absence position with the possibility of extension.

 

 

DUTIES:  Reporting to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, the selected candidate will:

 

  • Represent the professional and educational needs of the District’s student information system (SIS) users of PowerSchool.
  • Provide support for PowerTeacher and PowerTeacher Pro.
  • Support the administration of the high school report card.
  • Provide support for Public Portal.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  In representing the professional and educational needs of district users, the Pedagogical Support person will:

 

  • Maintain ongoing collaboration and communication with the District PowerSchool Project Coordinator, District PowerSchool SIS Specialist, District Staff, Education Centres and Schools;
  • Collaborate with the PowerSchool Project Coordinator, EECD project team, and consult with schools and school district staff to provide information required to configure the new SIS based on the professional and educational needs of all District users (District Office Education Staff, Ed Centre Education Staff, District Technical Support, school administration, administrative assistants, guidance counselors, lead teachers, teachers, educational assistants, students and parents.)
  • Assist with scheduling and post-scheduling training support.

  • Deliver training sessions for all district education staff, principals, vice-principals, guidance counselors and lead teachers;
  • Collaborate with the provincial team to assist in the development of supplementary on-line support resources (e.g., user guides, tutorials, videos)
