Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • M. Ed (Exceptionalities) or equivalent post-graduate
  • Successful experience as an EST-R
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Level II Autism in Education, BCBA or equivalent
Desirable:
·         Commitment to ongoing learning, education and professional development
·         Ability to work as a team member independently with minimal supervision
  • Evidence of leadership ability
  • High regard for confidentiality (RTIPPA, PHIPA)
  • Initiative, diligence and professional judgment and problem-solving skills

INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION

Resource/Behaviour Lead [EST-RB] – Sussex Regional High School
1.0 Fte – One Year Term
Description: This position provides support for students with complex needs, which will include: assessment, data analysis, development of Individualized Behaviour Plans [IBSPs], academic and social skills programming, identifying appropriate resources, and presenting related in-service training.
Implementation of support programs with children with complex behavioural needs, will involve: providing support to optimize student transitions; maintaining written documentation and data; choosing interventions with documented empirical effectiveness for children with behavioural needs as a basis of educational services; and guiding staff in the use of efficient, accurate and non-intrusive data collection to enable decision making.
This teacher promotes the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis [ABA] and develops, implements and supports the programming for students with complex needs.
