INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS
Education Support Services Team Lead
August 2019-June 2020 with the possibility of extension
Three positions (One HEC, One SJEC, One SJEC/SSEC) with responsibilities across ASD-S
These leads will work in coaching and professional learning roles with members of School-Based Education Support Services Teams (ESSTs), both as teams and as individual professionals, as well as with Educational Assistants. These leads will be supporting the district’s goal on enhancing the capacity of ESSTs, school-based Education Support Services professionals, and learning support personnel.
Responsibilities
· Report to the ESS Coordinators
· Provide professional learning for Educational Assistants, School Intervention Workers, and Resource Teachers on roles, responsibilities, and best practices
· Coaching Resource Teachers on professional practice, including assessment and intervention
· Coaching Resource Teachers on management tasks, including work plans and scheduling
· Coaching ESSTs on best practices, including managing meetings, action plans arising from meetings, and team-based approaches
· Liaising with school administrators to help ensure the implementation of best practices with regard to ESSTs and the roles and responsibilities of each member.
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
· NB Teachers Certificate VI and a Master of Education in Exceptional Learners or equivalent
· Strong working knowledge of Education Support Services
· Strong commitment to inclusionary practice and EECD Policy 322
· Strong communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
· Minimum five years successful experience in a school-based Educational Support Services role
· Willingness to work and travel, on regular basis, throughout ASD-S
· Ability to work with minimum supervision and direction
