​Mr. Brent Bond and Miss Nadine McCullum’s application for the Arts Smarts project “We Can Publish our Stories – On Peut Publier Nos Histoires” has been approved. This is an opportunity for the Grade 5 students at BES to team with Acadian artist and children’s author and illustrator, Rejean Roy from Northern NB. This project will give the students an opportunity to write, illustrate and publish a class book related to the themes in the Grade 5 Intensive French program. The artist Mr. Roy has extensive experience in this area, having written and/or illustrated over fifteen children’s books. The learning goals for this project are numerous and cover outcomes in the French speaking, reading and writing curriculum, not to mention the art outcomes that teaming with Mr. Roy will entail.
