River Valley Me to We Group Spreading Holiday Spirit

The River Valley Me to We group has been busy spreading holiday spirit.  They have been selling Christmas Cards designed by local artists in conjunction with the SJ anti-poverty initiative.  The students have raised a little over $300.00 for the initiative and chose to use their portion of the fundraising, which totaled $150.00, to purchase gifts for the Centennial School Christmas Bazaar.

As well, our group, with the assistance of our teachers and administration, headed off to Centennial School for their Christmas Bazaar on Tuesday.  Our fantastic 'elves'  helped wrap gifts and served as personal shoppers- giving back to our community.   Ways to go Raiders!

Our group is beginning to collect small shampoos, soaps, etc to furnish bags comfort bags for Women in Haiti.  These will be going to Haiti in late January, when Mrs Jackson, a recently retired EA from RVMS, returns to further her efforts at a local orphanage.  If you have any of these items(soaps, shampoos, face cloths, nail polish, hair accessories) we would gladly take them to add to our bags.  Please email shelley.thorne@nbed.nb.ca to arrange for a pick up.
